You would rather pay for her kid?
Also, I do agree that people in generally could use help in learning to be more financially stable -like take life-skill classes taught in high school- but when you look at things like how rogue stock agents can take down a whole company or even a whole market & throw a whole economy out of whack -it’s not the people who lose their job & have to go on social assistance fault & become stigmatized bcuz ungrasping & ovr judgemental people tell them they should learn how to cut their spending.
BTW – who is the government? It’s suppose to be of the people by the people and therefore you are very much a part of the government (even thou the US can be quite the dictatorship in how much it does control).Taxes help pave your roads, help your health (believe it or not!) and help your neighbours in society so they don’t end up slicing your throat for something you have. It’s a very complex system you obviously under estimate. It’s so easy to become a bum nowadays so don’t be quick to judge.
I like rock climbing, but I can’t afford the safety cams. Can I have the US taxpayer pay for those too?
I do help them, that’s the issue, the government has no business giving you anything, it isn’t their money, it’s tax payers money. You sound like a socialist who doesn’t want to work for anything and complain about it. Who’s the sheep here? The one asking the government for a hand out or the one who wants LESS government and government out of everything? Learn to help yourself and others will help you. Stop asking for a hand out, you’re a disgrace.
lol that is sooo blindly ignorant — a few fall through the cracks, many fall when elites make “your” decisions for you…. you definitely sound like one of their sheep… you should be helping your neighbours, your friends, and your family… kinda like the tradgey of the commons but even that can be twisted to a one-sided pro-capitalist anti-anything else arguement. Cutting corners isn’t the problem, people not understanding the entire issue is.
I’m very aware of those conditions; they have been brought to the forefront and argued with until my ears have bled. This is special interest. And the majority on BC are solely for preventing pregnancy. Just as rape is used to justify abortions, it’s the same with this argument. A small portion doesn’t represent the whole. Many doctors push BC on women and make light issues bigger than they are. Our country has become a pill-dependent nation. Big Pharma love people like you.
I have a theory on this. I think this issue is going to be thrown around by liberals so that the focus will stray away from the fact that our economy is horrendous. My stance on this issue is this: I am on birth control. I am all for birth control. I am catholic. However, I do not think that anyone should have to pay for my birth control. My sister goes to the local health clinic and gets hers for FREE. Now please tell me again how that is not affordable?
Like I SAID, birth control is not just used for preventing pregnancy. It’s not all about sex. That’s a common misconception. For example:
“…birth control pills for irregular or absent menstrual periods, menstrual cramps, acne, PMS, endometriosis, and for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.”
Not to mention other types of birth control help to prevent some types of cervical cancer. Taking that away from low-income women would be inconsiderate and cruel.
Really? What happened to being responsible? Taking responsibility for your actions, or better yet, being intelligent enough to make wise decisions to prevent unwanted outcomes.
“Women need this.”
There’s no rationing with people like you.
“so that I don’t get pregnant by my husband”
I think that statement describes what type of people you all are who want others to pay for your birth control.
And to take away that option for low-income women will = more teen moms. Yeah, JUST what America needs.
Btw, birth control is used for MANY more things than just preventing pregnancy. For christ’s sake, do your research, people. Women need this.
Romney FAIL. Churches themselves are exempt. The insurance company must provide in those cases.
Here’s a tip, get rid of your cable tv, your cell phone, your internet, and buy health insurance. Learn to get your priorities straight, it’s not my job as a hard worker to pay for your birth control. If you honestly work, make cuts, and save your money. It’s not hard to buy what you want. If you’ve got a car note, an rv note, or want to take a vacation, once again, LEARN TO CUT!
wait… how about answering the question!!! They don’t answer the question. How dumb do they think America is? The question was “do you believe in contraception” and they just go off on a tangent and completely ignore the question because they would rather lie than stand up for one or the other. It’s a yes or no question, answer it.
Would you rather pay for OUR children instead? Birth control’s cheaper.
That wasn’t my point, but I actually don’t want to waste my time arguing about this with you anymore. Sorry for trying to show you how important it is to me free birth control is still an option in my future, you’re OBVIOUSLY superior by buying your own contraception and taking “responsibility” when it comes to sex even though seeking out accessible birth control to protect yourself is just as responsible as paying for it. Congratulations!!
Since you mention “sexy models”, no one is paying for my playlists and that includes the taxpayers. When a consumer of porn watches a movie or purchases a magazine, that’s his money and no one else’s. That doesn’t apply to birth control if the tax payer has to pay for it.
If you want to engage in reckless and irresponsible behavior, then let that be your problem alone and don’t make the rest of us pay the bill. Go ahead and get your birth control, condoms, etc. But if you get pregnant, then that is your responsibility. If you get an STD, that is your responsibility. The rest of us shouldn’t pay for your behavior. Only you should.
You’re a very selfish person to shove your irresponsibility and reckless behavior on the rest of us to pay your bills.
War is the responsibility of gov as ONLY gov can handle national security. If you want to oppose it, then protest or seek to get officials to be elected, who are against it. But gov doesn’t need to deal w/birth control as it needs to deal with national security. Private firms and non-profit groups can and do deal with birth control.
Not worry about parental consent for birth control or about sex? As I said TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for yourself including sex. You are responsible, not everyone else.
Engaging in sex is YOUR responsibility and not everyone else’s. If the teens get STDs, that is their fault and not everyone else’s. I wouldn’t have sex w/someone w/o considering the consequences of a possible pregnancy and other possibilities. It would be MY responsibility if she got pregnant. I’ll help others by telling them to take responsibility for their actions and if they don’t want the consequences of sex, then engage in abstinence.
Why can’t we just help each other? What people need to grasp is that people (even teens) enjoy sex and by taking away access to free birth control you’re only going to increase the chances of MORE STDS and pregnancies in the world. Judging by your playlist “sexy models” I’m assuming you like sex and I’m also assuming you’re a man. How would you feel if someone you had sex with couldn’t afford the pill, had sex with you anyway and in the end got pregnant?
I’m probably going to have sex anyway, and taking access to birth control away from me won’t stop that, so why is better in this situation to be more sorry than safe?…
